THE NEW JOHNS CREEK GRASS - AUGUST 14, 2019
The NJCG is a traditional bluegrass band based in the greater Knoxville area specializing in up-tempo bluegrass. The original Johns Creek Grass (see photos) was co-founded by the father of one of our members. The band performed in various iterations throughout the Southeast until the untimely loss of one of the founding members. In an effort to carry on the family tradition, the New Johns Creek Grass was formed. The NJCG is comprised of former ETSU Bluegrass Program students and long-time friends. We were surprised to find that several of us have recently relocated to the Knoxville area, and decided that we needed to start picking more often. Most of the members are multi-instrumentalists, which allows us greater flexibility to fit the needs of your event or venue. While NJCG normally operates as a 4-piece band of guitar, bass, fiddle, and banjo, we also offer 2 and 3-piece options for more intimate settings.
